This March the in-demand OCD Support Groups are back along with some new groups. The groups will be facilitated by Michael Manchester in his new office in Winter Park.
Solutions & Support OCD Group
In the past my practice offered OCD support groups but often individuals were looking for more than just a support group. This group offers counseling for adults in treatment and those thinking about treatment. The objectives of the group are to: (1) offer support to adults struggling with OCD, (2) provide encouragement and coaching to people in recovery from OCD or beginning their recovery from OCD, and (3) to educate and inform individuals about evidenced based treatments for OCD. The group will meet Monday evenings from 7:00 – 8:15 pm at the office of Michael Manchester in Winter Park. The cost of the group is $100/month.
Understanding OCD and evidenced based treatments can be overwhelming for people new to OCD. This free monthly group answers the questions and addresses the concerns for individuals with OCD and their family/friends. The group’s primary objective is to inform and educate about OCD and OC Spectrum Disorders (hoarding, body dysmorphic disorder, health anxiety, hair pulling and etc.) The group also provides information about evidenced based OCD treatment options. Please call Michael Manchester to make arrangements to attend or for more information. There is no cost for the group.
Teen OCD Support Group
Being a teenager is challenging enough. Throw in OCD and those challenges are amplified. This free weekly meeting is for adolescents with OCD or associated disorders (health anxiety, body dysmorphic disorder, skin picking and hair pulling etc.) The group offers a safe place to talk about the challenges of OCD. The group also provides information and education about OCD and treatment options. This free group will meet Wednesdays from 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm starting in March. Please call Michael Manchester MA, LMHC to make arrangements to attend or for more information.
Misophonia, a little-known disorder that makes life difficult for individuals and their friends and family. Misophonia is characterized by extreme or intense emotional and/or physical responses to either auditory or visual triggers. The group is free and provides information for individuals with ‘Miso’ and/or their family/friends. The group’s objective is to educate about ‘Miso’ and strategies to deal with ‘Miso’. Please call Michael Manchester MA, LMHC to make arrangements to attend this free monthly meeting.
